My Thali Today..... Batata Kachrya... ( Potato Dry Subji).. Quick ,Easy n Tasty Maharashtrian Side Dish , Tomato Rasam , Ambya Sasam... ( Mangalore Traditional Mango Curry ) , Mooli Raita , Phulka ......n..... Rice.


 Batata Kachrya... ( Potato Dry Subji).. Quick ,Easy n Tasty Maharashtrian Side Dish...

Recipe.. 

Peel 4 to 5 Potatoes .. then keep it water.. just before making sabji remove it.. 

Cut thin slices as you can see in my Thali pic..

In a open pan take 2 tabsps. Of  oil.. heat it then add 1/2 tsp Rai ( mustard seeds), 1/4 tsp 

Jeera , 1 chopped Green chilli, Hing n Haldi as needed, then add sliced Potatoes.. saute it.. 

then add some Goda masala or any home made masala if you have this is optional.. if you

 dont have then add pinch of red chilli powder..mix it ..add Salt as per taste.. add some 

green dhania leaves.. mixit.. cover it n cook it till Potatoes gets soft ..then remove lid n fry 

it till gets slightly crisp n brown.. this Potato Kachrya tadte yummm with Chapati or 

Bhakri..Garnish with lots of Dhania leaves.. n serve..



TOMATO RASAM..

Recipe

Chop 2-3 tomatoes. grind it in mixie without water...

In a vessel take 3-4 glass water,add tomatoes,2tbsp cooked n mashed dal or you can use any left over dal..

add green chillies,crushed garlic,rasam powder.(or little sambhar powder or crushed dhania jeera n black pepper powder ) ,

Add currypatta,dhania leaves,little hing,salt,sugar(optional),imli juice,&boil for 10 minutes on low flame.if needed add more water..boil till nicce Rasam aroma comes..switch off gas.. 

Add tadka of ghee,rai,whole red chilli,hing,curry patta...i add pinch of rasam powder in tadka..tomato rasam will be ready..



Ambya Sasam... ( Mangalore Traditional Mango Curry )

Recipe..

This is a very traditional amchi dish.Very quick and easy to make.it is sweet,little spicy curry..tastes very 

well when served with rice and dalitoy.

1.slice the sweet Alphonso mangoes(or any type of sweet4 mangoes and mix little jaggery in it.(only if mangoes are sour)

2.grind grated coconut 2wati ,mustard seeds1 tsp.,tamarind small piece,little salt,2 3 whole red chillies & jaggery 2 to 3 tabsps. with little water and 

make fine paste.

3.mix the sliced mango pieces well in the ground masala.

4.ambya sasam is ready to serve




Mooli Raita... Recipe..

Peel Raddish.. Grate it.. add Little of finely chopped Onion .some Dhania Leaves.

Then add salt, pinch of sugar (optional ). Mix it.. Then add whisked Dahi in it.. Mix it.. 

Make tadka with Ghee add Rai, Chopped Green chilli , whole Red Chilli, Currypatta, pour 

it in Raita.. Garnish with some more Dhania Leaves n serve it.

Tastes good when you serve it with thin Sev..

Lacy Neer Dosa or Panpole With coconut Garlic Chutney For Breakfast..

 Lacy Neer Dosa or Panpole.. Here is recipe. Ingredients... Rice...1 cup Fresh Grated Coconut.. 1/2 cup. Sugar.. 1 tsp.(optional ) Salt.. as per taste. Water...as needed. Oil..For Frying Dosa Method... 1-soak rice for 3-4 hours in water. 2-grind rice,grated coconut,salt and sugar(optional )with water in a fine paste. 3-add some water and make that paste thin to spread dosas. 4-take non stick tawa and spread thin dosas on it 5-apply some oil on tawa to take out dosas easily. Coconut Garlic chutney.. Grind fresh 1 cup fresh grated Coconut ,  4 to 5 Garlic cloves, small piece of chinch (Imli) 2 or 3 Whole Red Chillies n salt with some  water. Chutney is ready to serve.

Rice Oondi (Undi) & Lasun (Garlic) Gojju (Chutney)

Rice Oondi (Undi) & Lasun (Garlic) Gojju (Chutney). Recipe.... Ingredients.. Rice Idli Rawa...2 cup Fresh Grated Coconut... 1/2 cup.. (4to 5 tabsps) Water...4 cups. For Tadka.. Oil.. 2 tabsps. Rai..1/2 tsp. Curry patta.. 8 to 10 Whole red chilli..2 or 3 Hing..1/4 tsp. Salt...as psr taste or minimum 1tsp. Sugar..1tsp.  Method.. Wash 1 wati idli rice rawa & keep. make tadka of oil,rai,red chillies,curry  patta,& hing. then add water .. while boiling add rawa,2 to 3 tabsp.grated  coconut..salt, sugar. mix it.& make it dry  like upma.. then make round undies with hand..make a  small whole in the middle.. steam it like idlis..undies r ready to serve... Serve it with Lasun Gojju. Lasun (Garlic ) Gojju ( Chutney) Recipe... Grind Grated fresh coconut 1cup with garlic 3..chinch small 2 pieces ,  3whole red  chillies & salt as per taste with little  water. sprinkle some coconut oil on it. (This is optional)
