My Thali Today....White Tingalavre n kook Bendi (Mangalore coconut curry with White Beans n Chinese Potatoes..or Koorka ) , Kearala Cabbage Thoran , Tambli ( Thand Coconut Kadhi with Onion n Ginger ), Tingalavre Pej Upkari or Saar Upkari ,Cauliflower n Capsicum Bhajiya (Fritters ), ...n....Rice


 Tingalavre n Kook Bendi(white beans red curry)..Recipe

Soak white beans for 4 hours or Overnight... 

Cook it in pressure cooker till soft..

Cook some Kook  in pressure cooker..then peelit n make 2 pieces.

Grind red whole chillies,some cooked beans 1tabsp. ...fresh grated coconut,..little imli (tamarind)..make a fine paste..

You can add some Tirphals if you like.. but its optional.. if you dont like it ..you can make without it.

Mix this masla with cooked beans,add salt..give a nice boil..

 Make tadka of oil  (Coconut Oil tadtes good but its optional ) & lots of  crushed garlic..

 Add it in curry..

Bendi is ready to serve..




Tambli(with onion,ginger)... Recipe;


we make different varietis of tambli..either with garlic,or with onion-ginger..or palak tambli..all have different taste &recipes..

Today I made onion tambli means just ,made fine paste with fresh coconut,some red 
whole chillies,&small piece of tamarind..&

 After making fine paste lastly I added 1onion pieces,& small ginger,1tabsp dahi.,salt.&again ground it jst for few seconds..

we can add water as required..no need of heating it..

it tastes very yummy with hot steamed rice.



Cauliflower n Capsicum Bhajiya.....Recipe..

Make long pieces of capsicum..remove seeds.. add salt hing n 1tabsp.of dahi in it..mix it nicely n keep aside.

Make cauliflower pieces apply salt, hing n red chilli powder to it.n keep aside.

Make batter of besan with 2 tabsps of Rice powder,hing,salt,chilli powder,dhania leaves,water.. 

Dip each capsicum  n cauliflower piece  in the batter properly..  they shoud be coated properly with the batter..

Then Deep fry Bhajiyas till crispy....



Kerala Cabbage Thoran....

Grate cabbage nicely or chop cabbage finely..

Grind coarse 2tabsps of fresh grated coconut, 2 green chillies n 1/4tsp.of Jeera without water.n keep aside.

In a pan take some coconut oil or any oil ..make tadka with Rai, currypatta, hing , n 

Add Cabbage in it.. stir it.. add ground coconut masala .. 

I add 2 greeen chillies chopped again in it.n 

Add Haldi , salt..mix it ..cover it for 3 to 4 minutes till cabbage gets slightly soft.. remove the cover..

Garnish with Dhania leaves ..Cabbage Thoran is ready to serve.. 



Tingalavre Pej Upkari or Saar Upkari

Cook Soaked Tingalavre in pressure cooker till soft..

Then add salt n little of tamarind juice in it.. if you like add 1 long choppped green chilli..

Boil it nicely ..keep the consistency as you like.. it shud be not dry or very watery.

Make Tadka with coconut oil or any oil add lots of crushed garlic n whole red chillies.. add it in the curry.. its ready to serve..

This curry is non spicy n without any masala so kids just love it..

Maharashtrian Goda Masala...Home Made Brahmani Goda or Kala Masala Powder..

 Maharashtrian Goda Masala...    Its a Home made Fresh Maharashtrian  Brahmani Goda Masala powder..I use this this  Masala in my regular  dishes like Amti, Bharali  Vangi, or any vegetables , Many Vegetable   Sabjis,  Dal Rice Khichdi, or Masale Bhaat , we  can even spread this Masala with some oil on  rotis n make rolls n eat. We can make Masala  Chapati. It us used in making Cutlets.. we can  add it in aby non veg dishes with eggs, fish or  meat..  Ingredients..   Use same Big Wati or Cup for measurement . 1...Dhane ( Dry Coriander Seeds )... 4 Big Wati. 2...Regular Jeera (Cummin Seeds.)... 1/2 Wati 3....Shaha Jeera.. 6 tsps. 4...Lavang (Cloves ).... 4 tsps. 5...Dalchini (Cinnamon)... 8 to 10 pieces about 2  inch each. 6.... Methi (Fenugreek Seeds)....1 tsp. 7....Rai (Mustard Seeds)...1tsp. 8....Hing Khada..2 pieces or 3 tsps Hing powder 9...Whole Lal Mirchi... Dry Whole Red Chillies..8  to 10. 10... Bread Thalipeeth... Very Good Of Use Of Left Over Bread...

Bread Thalipeeth  Recipe... Ingredients.. Brread Slices...5 to 7 big Fine Rawa (Suji ) Green Mirchi (Chillies)..3..4 Garlic ..2 big Dhania leaves.. as needed Onion.. 1 big chopped finely Sugar... 1sp or as per taste Salt..as per taste Water.. as needed Oil.. for frying Method.. Put 5 to 6 bread slices in water..immediately press it n remove water n take it in a bowl, Then add 1cup fine rawa..add salt .little of sugar,  Add chopped finely green mirchi, dhania leaves.n little of garlic grated. ( this time I added 2tsps of green masala.i.I green chillies.,grated garlic n dhania leaves chutnney)   . Add chopped finely onion..n mix it nicely n make dough for thalipeeth.if you need some water u can sprinkle some on the dough n,make ot soft.. Take parching paper or butter paper then apply some oil n keep 1 ball of dough n press it  make round thin like  puri or chapati   Shallow fry it on a pan with applying oil from both sides,make churchuri ( crispy ) n serve it..
