My Thali Today.... Knolkol Sukke , Beetroot Raita , Tadka Dal , Karela Fried Phodi ( Crispies ) , Phulka .....n.....Rice.
Knolkol Sukke... Recipe..
This is a Mangalorean dish..
Peel the Knolkol. make big pieces of it. add 1 Onion big pieces,add salt & water ..then cook it till soft. You can cook it in pressure cooker for 2 whistles.
then in a tadka pan fry 1\2 tabsp. of dhania seeds, 1/2tsp of white udid dal,7-8 methi seeds.t,& 3-4 red whole chillies in few drops of oil.
then grind fresh grated coconut, above fried things,haldi,&little of chinch wtth water & make paste.
then add it in cooked Knolkol.add little gud,some salt.& boil it.. keep very little gravy..it shud be sukka.
.then add tadka with coconut oil,rai,currypatta in it.. Knolkol sukke is ready to serve.
Beetroot Raita.. Recipe..
Cook Beetroot big pieces with some salt n little
water. in the pressure cooker.then peel it.make
small pieces..then add finely chopped
onions.add curd.add salt if you need.mix it
nicely.then make tadka with ghee adding
mustard seeds, currypatta, red whole chilli
piece, choppped green chilli, n pinch of hing.add
it in the Raita....
Tadka Dal...Recipe...
Boil 1 cup of Tooordal. Cook it in pressure cooker with water..mix it nicely..
Then make a tadka with ghee..add chopped 3 to 4 Garlic cloves, 1/4 tsp.Rai , 1/4 tsp.Jeera , 4 to 5 Curry leaves, 2 chopped Green chillies, 1 small red chili, then after frying add some Haldi n pour cooked Dal in it.. Salt, n Dhania leaves..boil it nice!y.. Garnish with Dhania leaves again n serve it..
Karela Phodis.. Recipe...
Scrape Karela Slightly..Make medium slices of Karela..
Add Salt , Haldi , Redchilli powder Hing , as per taste.. mix it nicely.. keep it for 10 minutes..
Then add some rice powder to coat it.. n Deep fry it in oil till crispy.. Karela phodis r ready to serve..
