Tel Poli or Gul Poli
This Tel Poli or Gul poli can be preserved for 8 to 10 days without Fridge. It is the best to carry in travels.. This is made specially on Makar Sankranti Day..
Ingredients.. For Outer Cover..
1..Wheat Flour..2 cups.
2...Oil...1/4 cup in dough as a mohan. n oil as needed for Shallow Fry.
3..Salt.. as per taste.
4.. water.. as needed to knead the dough.
Stuffing..
1.. 3 Tabsp.of Besan.
2.. 1 cup Roasted Til Powder .
3.. 1 n 1/2 cups Grated Gud or Gud powder.
4..Ghee as needed to Bind the stuffing.
5.. 1 tsp.Elaichi Powder.
Method....
For Outer Cover..
Knead the dough with wheat Floor add more of oil like about 1/4 cup as a mohan in it..
Add salt as per taste, mix it nicely.then add water only as much as you need..knead slightly hard dough..keep it for 1 hour atleast.
Then for stuffing.. ..
Dry Roast Besan till light brown.
Then add 1 cup of roasted Til powder, add grated 1n 1/2 grated gud or gud powder.in it...you can add more if you like sweeter taste..
Add Elaichi powder..mix it..add some ghee in it make like stuffing of puranpoli stuffing.
Make round balls for stuffing.. then take wheat dough.. make round pooris if it.. stuff thie stuffing in side.. cover the stuffing fully so that it cannt come out..
Then roll it in wheat floor n roll these round balls in to thin chapatis
Then shallow fry it applying more of oil from both sides.. fry it nicely till becomes crispy on low flame..
Tel Poliis ready to eat.. enjoy it..
