Modaks n Diya Modaks for Arti..
Ingredients...
For Stuffing..
1..Fresh Grated Coconut...2 cups
2.. Jaggery or Gud.... 1.1/2 to 2 Cups ...as per taste
3..Elaichi powder.. 1/2 tsp
4.khismiss n cashew crushed if you like as much as you like..
5.White Til...1 tsp.
6.Ghee..1tabsp.
For outer covering...
1.Maida (Plain Flour )
2.oil for Mohan ..3tabsps.
3. Salt.. as per taste.
4.water..as needed.
Oil to deep Fry.
Method...
Stuffing...
1. In a pan add ghee..add fresh grated coconut..add Gud .mix it nicely on low flamme
2. Add crushed cashew n khismiss in it..mix it Make the mixture dry..
3. Add Elaichi powder..mix it. &Keep it aside.
Outer Covering..
1.Mix Maida with salt & very hot oil mohan..mix it..
2..then add water & knead it.. make hard dough like Poori dough.
3. Keep it for 15 minutes covered
4. Then make round small balls &roll it like small Poori.
5..keep the stuffing inside in it Fold it. Give Modak n Diya Modak shapes.
6...fold properly so that stuffing will not come out.
7..keep these Modaks covered.
8.. Deep fry it in oil on low flame till slightly brown n crispy..
9.Modaks r ready ..
