 White Chavali or Black Eyed Beans n Mayalu ,Vali or Malabar Spinach  Curry..

Recipe... 


Ingredients...

1.. Black Eyed Beans...1/2 cup.

2...Mayaly Bhaji or Vali Bhaji..1 Bunch.

3..Onion...small 1 ..chopped.

4... Garlic  ..For Grinding...4 to 5 and 8 to 10 Small crushed Garlic for Tadka.

5.. 1Tomato..chopped

6..Whole Red Chillies... 5to 6 ..I used Bedgi Chillies.

7... Haldi... 1/2 tsp.

8..Dhania Seeds...1 tabsp.

9..Methi seeds...6 to7

10..Rai...Pinch..less than 1/4;tsp.

11.. Jeera..1\4 tsp.

12...Black Pepper 5to 7

13...Hing..pinch

14..salt as per taste.

15...oil ...1tabsp.

16..water..as needed.



Method...


Wash n clean Mayalu Bhaji .chop leaves finely..n stems into long pieces.

Soak Alsanda or White Chavali for 4 to 5 hours or over night.

Then cook Chavali, with Mayalu bhaji with stems.. add salt, Tomato pieces , n water in it.. 

Pressure cook it for 2to 3 whistles.

For grinding Masala....

Take a tadka pan dry roast whole red chillies.keep aside. Then dry roast Dhania Seeds, Jeera, 

Rai, Methi, n Black Pepper on low flame for few seconds till nice aroma.

Then grind roasted masa!a with whole red chillies, chopped onion, Garlic cloves, fresh grated 

coconut, n Haldi with water.. Make fine Paste.

Then add this paste in cooked chavali n Mayalu..adjust salt as per taste.you can keep gravy thick

 or thin as you like by adding water as needed.

Boil it properly.

Then make tadka with crushed Garlic, Rai n pinch of hing..and add it in ready curry.

Curry is ready to serve.
