Khara Sheng or Roasted Peanuts .. Roasted In Salt just like Roasted in Bhatti ..which we get it in the market. Yumm!!!
Khara Sheng or Roasted Peanuts...
Ingredients...
Peanuts or Shengdana.. 2 cups.
Salt... 1/4tsp. Or less as per taste.
Water...4 cups.
Table Salt.. 1 cup for roasting.
Method..
Take 4 cups of water in the vessel.. heat it .
add 1/4 tsp or less salt in it. After boiling it add
peanuts in it.
Switch off the flame. Cover it. n keep it for 8 to10
minutes in it.
Strain the water completely. Spread it on a towel
for 10 minutes. Make it slightly dry.
Then take in a big open Kadhai or thick
bottomed pan .Keep it on flame..
add 1 cup table salt...heat it fully..
then add Peanuts in it. You can make 2 batches
for roasting Peanuts.
Keep stirring n roasting continuously..
keep flame low to medium.
While roasting you will see some salt sticked to
peanuts.
But as you keep stirring after some time
gradually..salt will get separated from peanuts.
When you check one peanut taking it out ..
you can see with your finger that its skin can
come out easily. n peanuts r getting crunchy.
The whole process need only 8 to 10 minutes..
do not make it too brown or peanuts will get
burnt taste from inside..even if you feel still
peanuts r slightly soft..not to worry.. after it
becomes cool..it gets cruchy properly.
Then transfer these peanuts in a strainer or
siever. So that all salt will be removed.n only
roasted peanuts will remain in a strainer.
Crunchy.. Munchy yummy Khara Sheng r ready
to eat..
