Rohu , Katla or Bhetki Fish Curry in Mustard
You can use any other fish with bones. I have
used Karli Fish(Silver Bar fish) in today's Bengali
fish Curry.
Ingredients.
1.Rohu or any other Fish Cleaned... 7-8 Pieces.
2. Green Chillies.... 6-7
3. Mustard Seeds... 2Tabsps.,.
4. Garlic... 5-6
5. Kalounji (Onion Seeds )...1tsp.
6. Mustard oil 5-6 tabsps
7. Haldi...1/2 tsp.
8. Red Chilli Powder..1/2 tsp,
9. Salt...As Per Taste,
Method..
1.Apply salt n haldi to fish pieces..
2.Soak 5to 6 tabsps of Yellow mustard seeds in
water for 15 to 20 minutes,.you can use Black
big mustard instead of yellow mustard seeds.
Or both mixed together.
3.Then grind garlic cloves, 6 green chillies n
soaked n 2 tabsps of mustard seeds n haldi with
some water,..make fine paste.
4.Then slightly shallow fry this fish pieces in
mustard oil..keep aside the pieces.
5. in same oil add kalounji seeds,add finely
chopped 1 small tomato (optional ).fry till soft.
6. Add ground masala . add little of red chilli
powder if green chillies not spicy.
7. add some salt an then add fried fish pieces.
8. Make gravy thin or thick as you like,
9. serve with steamed rice.....
