My Thali Today... Raw Banana (kachcha Kela) n kulith (Horse Gram ) Koddel ( Mangalore Curry ), Stuffed Karela ( Bitter Gourd ) Pickle , Karela Koshimbir , Green Mirchi Bhajiya ...n.... Rice.
Raw Banana (kachcha Kela) n kulith (Horse Gram ) Koddel ( Mangalore Curry ),
Recipe..
Soak Kulitb for 4to 5 hours.
Add some salt n Cook in pressure cooker till
soft..
Remove skin n Cook raw banana pieces with
little salt In separate vessel .
Grind red whole chillies ...fresh grated
coconut,..little imli (tamarind).n some cooked
Kulith...make a fine paste..
You can add some Tirphals if you like.. but its
optional.. if you dont like it ..you can make
without it.
Mix all cooked Kulith n Banana pieces together..
Add this ground masala ,add salt..give a nice
boil adding water as much as you like thin or thick gravy..
Make tadka of oil (Coconut Oil tastes good but
its optional ) & lots of crushed garlic..
Add it in curry..
Koddel is ready to serve.
Stuffed Karela ( Bitter Gourd ) Pickle
Recipe..
Easy and quick to make..it tastes yummy when served with dal and; rice....This is a Andhra Pickle.
1.Take small karelas or thin long tender karelas.if it is big make 2 pieces... 250 gms
2.Scrape the skin roughly.give slits to stuff masala.if there are hard seeds remove it...
3.Deep fry the karelas until brown.dont make crisp.
4.Take lots of garlic cloves... 15 to 20,peel it and grind it with red chilli powder..3 to 4
tabsps salt as per taste ...grind without water.add 1tsp fried karela oil in it.mix it.(I use
kashmiri or bedgi chilli powder)
5.stuff the ground masala in fried karelas and apply masala from out side.
6.This pickle can be refridgerated for more than 15 days.
Karela Koshimbir...
Recipe..
Chope finely Karela..apply some sa!t n keep for 15 minutes. Then squeez it n again wash
it water n squeez it properly to remove bitterness of karela..
heat oil in a fry pan add chopped Karela pieces, little salt, green chilly and fry till its
crispy and light brown.
In a serving bowl, add onion,grated coconut, little salt, fried Karela, dhania leaves and
lemon juice and mix well.
garnish with dhania leaves and serve.
Green Mirchi Bhajiya....
Recipe..
give slit to thick long green mirchis..
add salt,hing,& 2tabsp dahi ..mix it and. keep
aside...
make batter of besan,some rice
powder,hing,salt,haldi,chillipowder,
powder..
Dip mirchis in it and, deep fry it till bhajiyas will
be crispy
