Dal Dhokli..or...Chakoya...or...Varanphal...


 


Dal Dhokli is a Gujrati delicacy ..In Maharashtra same dish is called Varanphal ..This dish is a one dish full meal.. you dont need anything with it..


 Dal Dhokli recipe.,

Ingredients..

Toor Dal... 1 cup.
Wheat Floor.. 2 to 3 cups.
Tomato.. 1 choppef finely.
Goda Masala ..2tsp.or Garam Masala powder1/4 tsp...  
Dhania jeera powder ..... 2tsp.
Ghee or Oil.. 2tabsps.
Currypatta.. 5..6 leaves.
Rai.. 1/4tsp. 
Jeera.. 1/4 tsp.Methi Seeds.. 5..6
Hing.. 1/4 tsp.
Haldi.. 1/2 tsp.
Green Chillies.. 2 to 3
Grated garlic .. 1tsp. ( Optional )
Chillipowder... Less than 1/4 tsp. Or as per taste
Imli Juice.. 1tabsp
Gud.. as per taste.
Dhania leaves.. as needed.
Salt.. as per taste.
Water as needed.


Method..

cook yellow toor dal nicely in Pressure cooker,it should be well cooked.then mix it properly n keep aside.

Make a stiff  dough with wheat flour.salt n water.rest it for 10 to 15 minutes. 

make Tadka in big pan or kadhai with ghee or oil ..add rai , jeera n 5-6 methi seeds, add 3-4 grated garlic( optional).add currypatta .

when rai splutters.aadd hing ..haldi..

then add chopped finely tomato.fry for few minutes,

add coooked dal..add goda masala or pinch garam masala...dhania powder..chopped green chilli..red chilli powder as per taste,

then add imli juice.(tamarind soaked in water).

add salt n jaggery as per taste.

give a nice boil adding water,

keep this prepared dal very thin.till it gets boiled 

make round balls of wheat  flour dough.roll it in thin round chapatis,.with a knife cut it in square pieces.separate it.then add it in dal one by one..& boil dal for 15 more minutes till these flour dumplings get well cooked..

finally garnish with dhania leaves..sprinkle some ghee on it, n serve.this is a one full meal .

Grind Grated fresh coconut 1cup with garlic 3..chinch small 2 pieces ,  3whole red  chillies & salt as per taste with little  water. sprinkle some coconut oil on it. (This is optional)

  French Beans Kismur Recipe.. Ingredients: 1.parasbi(french beans)- 250gms,finely chopped. 2.onion -2 small, finely chopped. 3.grated coconut - 3/4-1 wati 4.green chillies-2 long slits. 5.lemon juice -1 tsp or to taste 6.salt to taste 7.dhania leaves- finely chopped for garnishing 8.oil - to fry (appx 2-3 tb sp) Instructions: 1.heat oil in a fry pan add chopped parasbi, little  salt, green chilly and fry till its crispy and light  brown. 2.In a serving bowl, add onion,grated coconut,  little salt, fried parasbi, dhania leaves and  lemon juice and mix well. 3.garnish with dhania leaves and serve. Grated Suran Andhra Bhaji.. Yam Sabji Recipe.. Remove skin of Suran.. you can take Suran piece  as much as your need. Grate it thicker  not fine. ( Wheat Rava )... 1 cup Grated fresh Coconut...3/4 cup. Green Chilies... 3to 4 as per taste ..chopped finely. Grated Ginger... 1tsp.. or 1  inch Ginger piece. Salt..as per taste.. Sugar ..1 tsp.or Gud... Small piece as per taste. Oil.. to fry Thalipeeth or Doddak. Water..to mix dough. Method... Mix together Rava.. gratedCucumber..  grated fresh Coconut,  Finely Chopped Green  chillies, Grated Ginger, Salt, Sugar or Jaggery (Optional ), n Water as needed.. make a soft dough..
